Fair Games

I've created this blog to document my journey through learning C#. Why as a 40 something year old dude would I want to learn C#? I recently got an Meta Quest 2 as my anniversary gift from my wife. I love it. However there is one type of game that I would love to play but can't find it. So I decided that I would start my journey learning game programming so I can make that game. What is the game you ask? I wanted to play all the different types of games that carnivals & fairs have. Like ring toss, ball toss, the balloon dart game, etc...

I'm a cyber security guy and I have a some background in programming but its mostly automation work using Python. I took some Java and C classes a long time ago, I'm familiar with programming concepts so how hard could it be? My choice of learning materials to start off with is a book by Harrison Ferrone called Learning C# by Developing Games with Unity 2021.

The first half of the book goes over concepts of C# with the second half incorporating Unity along with advanced C# topics. Luckily, through my work, I have access to Visual Studio for the coding. Visual Studio Community works just as well. As my progress continues, I'll start posting projects that I've completed and the different training guides, classes, videos that I've used.

Welcome to my journey into game programming. I'm hoping to be able to publish a VR carnival games game in the end. Wish me luck and if you want to keep updated in my journey feel free to get subscribed.
